Abstract
An outbreak of salmonellosis caused by Salmonella Enteritidis phage type 21 occurred in humans and poultry in Tyrol (Austria) in 1995. Epidemiological relationships between the isolates were investigated by macrorestriction a nalysis, ribotyping, IS200 typing and plasmid analysis. Characterization of the isolates revealed a clonal identity. This suggests that these isolates are derived from one source.
