Abstract
Prominent eolianitic formation, affected by neotectonics and attached to a Prebetic structural front, have been studied from three sectors of the nort hern part of the Serra Gelada. Accumulation of these eolian units repeatedl y interrupted a sequence of slope deposits, that range from an early Pleist ocene megabreccia, fully indurated, to debris falls reflecting present-day weathering. Eolian activity transported great quantities of fluviomarine sa nd that are interbedded with talus horizons or colluvia. Although sea-level changes modified these processes, they do not appear to have been as criti cal to formation of these features as they were to their preservation. A mo del is proposed to explain this unusual and complicated sequence of process ual events.
