Abstract
4-Phenyl-1,2,3,5-dithiadiazolyl reacts with AuCl . THT (THT is tetrahydroth iophene) to produce 4-phenyl-1,2,3,5-dithiadiazolylium chloride and element al gold. The structure of the dichloromethane hemisolvate, C7H5N2S2+. Cl(-) 0.5CH(2)Cl(2) or PhCNSSN+. Cl-. 0.5CH(2)-Cl-2, contains one Cl- anion per d ithiadiazolylium cation. The Cl- anion sits approximately equidistant from each of the S atoms of the CN2S2 fragment, and lies almost directly in the heterocyclic ring plane. The solvent molecule is well ordered, forming weak interactions with the dithiadiazolium and Cl- ions.
