Abstract
Benzenehexabromide affords bromination of p-substituted anilines. The react ivites are in the order OMe > Me > H > CI > COOH > NO2. The reaction shows a good Hammett correlation with sigma*-values of the substituents with a p value -0.452 +/- 0.05.
