Abstract
This prospective study, which included 320 patients, showed that total chol esterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein chol esterol, total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and trigly cerides correlate with thoracic aortic atherosclerosis. Low-density lipopro tein cholesterol is identified as an independent predictor of thoracic aort ic plaque related to the severity of thoracic aortic atherosclerosis.
