New generation, small-, medium-, and Large-pore metal-incorporated aluminop
hosphate (MeAPO) molecular sieves were investigated with the use of Fourier
transform (FT) Raman spectroscopy. The Raman spectra of well-characterized
, high-purity MeAPO molecular sieves such as AlPO-5, NiAPO-5, MAPO-11, SAPO
-34, MAPO-36, MAPO-39, MAPO-43, SAPO-44, MAPO-46, and MAPO-50 have been obt
ained in the 150-3250 cm(-1) region. The presence of different metals in th
e AlPO framework within a particular structure has also been studied by FT-
Raman spectroscopy. Comparison of FT-Raman and Fourier transform infrared (
FT-IR) spectra of the samples indicated that the structures of the MeAPOs :
Ire more easily distinguished by FT-Raman than by FT-IR spectroscopy and th
at the former can be used for identifying and characterizing these material
s.
