Abstract
In this paper we consider a linear time-varying system whose state equation is affected by time delays and subject to unknown, square integrable distu rbances. Using a differential games approach, we provide a necessary and su fficient condition for the existence of an optimal control law minimizing t he H-infinity norm of the operator mapping the disturbance to the weighted control and terminal state. An example, which illustrates the proposed tech nique, is also provided at the end of the paper. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
