Abstract
Perirhinal cortex contributes to judgements about stimulus familiarity, but its role is far greater than this. Impairments on tasks that do not involv e familiarity judgements attest to the fact that perirhinal cortex is invol ved in the greater role of knowing about objects, including, but not limite d to, their relative familiarity.
