Abstract
The first case of ISA during first feeding in Atlantic salmon fry is descri bed. The presence of ISA virus is shown with the help of cell cultures (ASK -cells), IFAT, RT-PCR and transmission electron microscopy. The possibility that this may be a case of vertical transmission is discussed, but it is a rgued that the ISA virus may have entered the hatchery through an as pet un identified route.
