Abstract
Virus-like particles were detected in granulomas associated with focal necr osis within thr. adductor muscle of the pearl oyster Pinctada margaritifera from French Polynesia. About 40 nm in size, these particles were generally found within cytoplasmic vesicles inside heavily degenerated granulocytes. More studies are required to further characterize them.
