Abstract
A stereoselective total synthesis of the monoterpenoid alcohol (+/-)-fragra nol has been accomplished utilizing a TiCl4 promoted [2 + 2] cycloaddition of allyl-tert-butyldiphenylsilane and methyl methacrylate as the key step.
