Abstract
The laser-assisted radiative capture between a positron and an antiproton i s studied in detail. The theoretical results show that the cross-section fo r antihydrogen formation is significantly reduced with the application of a laser background. This effect is most merited when the laser polarization is parallel to the incident direction.
