Abstract
This paper is concerned with the torsional vibrations of a hook shaft in a sewing machine. The equations governing the motion of the needle bar assemb ly the hook assembly and the feed assembly are derived. The average natural frequencies are determined. The equations of the motion ave integrated num erically and the difference between the actual and expected angular positio n of the hook is found.
