C70O dissolved in toluene transforms to as yet undetermined compounds when
exposed to light at room temperature. After 140 days, only 21% of the origi
nal C70O remained. C-70 was not formed. C-139, or C140O were not found. One
possible explanation is that the compounds formed were very insoluble in t
oluene and that their solids either remained in colloidal solution or attac
hed themselves to the glass walls of the container bottles.
