Abstract
This paper is the first attempt to analyze possible grain boundary dis tributions in nanocrystalline zirconia. Computer simulation was used t o model the grain boundary character distributions based on certain as sumptions about crystallographic texture. The possible relevance of th e results obtained to the protective properties of zirconia films is d iscussed. (C) 1997 Acta Metallurgica Inc.
