Abstract
We studied the flux line confinement by a square, triangular and recta ngular array of microholes (antidots) in superconducting Pb/Ge multila yers and WGe films The critical current density j(c) is strongly enhan ced due to pinning of single- or multiple-quanta vortices by the antid ots. Measurements of j(c) for several antidot radii have been performe d. For large enough antidots, a crossover to a wire network regime is observed (C) 1997 Acta Metallurgica Inc.
