Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a new formalism to study noise enhancement indu ced by parametric gain in wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) systems. We also analyze the phenomenon impact in a typical long-haul, dispersion-comp ensated link, and show its peculiar relevance in WDM systems.
