Abstract
In this paper, a simple general electrical discharges circuit model for ele ctrical discharge current waveform simulation in over-voltaged air gaps is presented. A macroscopic circuital method of simulation utilizing the stand ard SPICE network simulator, based on a two-dimensional (2-D) nonlinear imp edances network has been proposed. The structure of the simulation framewor k is designed to take into account the electrode geometries in a straightfo rward way. A study of conducted current waveform for different electrode ge ometries has been done. Experimental data have been used to validate the si mulation results.
