Abstract
The central nervous system and systemic complications of bacterial meningit is cause significant morbidity and mortality. This article offers insight i nto the clinical features, pathogenesis, and management of these complicati ons. In many instances, the improved outcome of intervention is based on cl inical suspicion and early recognition. The management of complications is evolving and is presently based mainly on supportive care.
