A specially developed setup for measuring cumulative-hadron yield at angles
of about 180 degrees is described. The methods for filtering the nonintera
cted beam particles, suppressing the background triggerings caused by inter
action of the beam halo with the edges of the trigger counters, and reconst
ructing secondary tracks in the vicinity of the beam track, which were used
under conditions of limited tracking information and a high beam backgroun
d, are discussed in detail.
