Abstract
Postmodern curriculum theory provides a framework for educators of the gift ed and talented to critique the assumptions of the field from within the fi eld Five overarching themes derived from postmodern literature ore discusse d. These are presence, origin, unity, denial of transcendence, and constitu tive otherness. Five issues are subsumed beneath the themes. These: are iss ues of discourse, the body, the canon, gender, and power and class.
