Little is known about risky sexual activity among adolescents with alcohol
use disorders. This study of 371 adolescent drinkers found that those with
alcohol disorders were more likely than other drinkers to be sexually activ
e, to have greater numbers of partners, and to initiate sexual activity at
slightly younger ages. Independent of alcohol group, females were more like
ly than males to have unprotected sexual encounters. (C) Society for Adoles
