Abstract
A landlocked population of the anadromous clupeid Alosa alosa from Aguieira Reservoir in Portugal is described. The individuals are fast-growing, matu re in their third year of life, live for 5+ years, and consequently spawn m ore than once. (C) 1999 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
