A titanium-sapphire laser associated with a photoacoustic spectrometer was
used to record the spectrum of ClCN between 10 300 and 13 000 cm-l. The 01(
1)5-01(1)0, 00(0)5-00(0)0, and 00(0)6-00(0)0 vibrational bands have been de
tected for both (ClCN)-Cl-35-C-12-N-14 and (ClCN)-Cl-37-C-12-N-14 molecules
. The rotational structure of the 00(0)5-00(0)0 band has been observed at h
igh resolution and fully analyzed for the main isotopomer (ClCN)-Cl-35-C-12
-N-14. Rotational constants of the upper state of this transition have been
determined. The anharmonic vibrational constants of the v(3), mode were ev
aluated up to the fourth order from the new band origins and bandhead posit
