Abstract
The convergence of the T-matrix approach for randomly oriented, nonabsorbin g, nonspherical Chebyshev particles is studied. A new physical convergence procedure is proposed. Both the mathematical procedure developed by Mishche nko (the M-procedure) and our physical procedure (the P-procedure) are exam ined in application to different particle size parameters, deformation para meters, and even and odd waviness parameters. The results show that under c ertain conditions the P-procedure is superior to the M-procedure. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
