A finite difference solution to the flow of a viscous incompressible fluid
flowing past an impulsively started infinite vertical plate in a rotating f
luid is derived by assuming constant heat flux at the plate. Axial and tran
sverse components of velocity, temperature profiles are shown graphically a
nd the effects of the rotation parameter, the Grashof number, the Prandtl n
umber and the Eckert number are discussed. The numerical values of the axia
l skin-friction and the Nusselt number are also computed and listed in tabl
es.
