Theoretically determined are the field and the profile of the laser in the
anisotropic plasma. The beam profile referring to the beam in vacuum is exp
licitly settled down by solving a boundary value problem. This is also done
for the reflected wave. The use of a Gauss-type general solution to the He
lmholtz equation governing the beam is intensively made. A different Raylei
gh range for each wave propagating parallel to the magnetic field B-0 is ex
plicitly obtained. Also explicitly determined are two Rayleigh ranges which
coexist when a rave propagates perpendicular to B-0 and which specify the
major and the minor axes of the elliptical cross section of the beam. Extra
ordinary wave is shown to be anomalously reflected at the boundary.
