Abstract
Two series of steryl di- and tri-fluorobenzoate liquid crystals were synthe
sized and their phase transition behaviours studied by DSC and thermal pola
rizing microscopy. The results show that while para-fluorine substituents s
tabilize the mesogenicities, meta-fluorine substituents slightly depress th
e mesogenicities.
