Abstract
It is demonstrated that the formulation of Gibbs adsorption equation in the IUPAC recommendations(1,2) is oversimplified to such an extent that it cou ld be a basis for misinterpretations. The possibility of a general and unam biguous presentation of the Gibbs equation is discussed.
