Antiproliferative and antimicrobial activities of pyrazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4] benzotriazine 5-oxides and their 5-deoxyderivatives

Various 3-,7-,8-substituted pyrazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]benzotriazine 5-oxides an d their 5-deoxyderivatives were prepared to investigate their antimicrobial , anti HIV-1 and antiproliferative activities. Derivatives bearing electron -withdrawing groups at the 3-,7- and 3-,8- positions showed antiproliferati ve activity against human neoplastic cell lines. Several compounds displaye d antibacterial and antifungal activities, although at lower concentrations than those cytotoxic for lymphoblastoid cells.
