Abstract
A fast frequency-sweep technique is presented for the analysis of cavity-ba cked microstrip patch antennas. This technique applies the method of asympt otic waveform evaluation (AWE) to the hybrid finite-element boundary-integr al (FE-BI) solution of the original boundary-value problem. Numerical examp les show that the proposed technique can speed wp the analysts by more than an order of magnitude. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
