Abstract
The new HERMES RICH detector is presented. This is the first fully operatio nal RICH using an aerogel radiator, as well as the more standard C4F10 gas. The design of the detector is discussed and first results are shown. (C) 1 999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
