Abstract
Based on a liquid-glass transition model a phonon-assisted structural trans ition between atomic configurations developed recently, the temperature dep endence of the specific volume: the high frequency longitudinal and shear m oduli, the hypersonic longitudinal and transverse sound velocities of vitre ous and molten B2O3 are expressed directly or indirectly in terms of n(R), which is a concentration of structural component of B2O3 obtained by our ph onon-assisted structural transition model to B2O3. All these theoretical re sults are in good quantitative agreement with the experimental data.
