C. Gheorghiu et al., The study of miscibility processes of binary polymer mixtures on acrylonitrile basis by X-ray scattering, REV RO CHIM, 43(11), 1998, pp. 1049-1057
Employing X-ray scattering, the phase morphology and the miscibility of two
mixtures formed from acrylonitrile-vinylacetate-alpha-methylstyrene copoly
mer with both styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer and cellulose acetate have be
en studied. The degrees of crystallinity, determined by X-ray diffraction,
revealed the preponderant amorphous character of these mixtures. By small a
ngle scattering of synchrotron radiation, imposing the miscibility conditio
n for Flory-Huggins interaction energy parameter, the "miscibility window"
for all mixtures were determined.
