Abstract
Several methods of plasma globulization of tungsten powders are investigate d, and plasma UHF treatment with a laminar plasma flux is found to be very effective. The tungsten powder obtained may be used to produce the cathodes of powerful electrovacuum devices, The kinetic constants of phase interact ion in W-Y2O3 and W-Y2O3-Re2Y systems are determined by secondary-ion mass spectroscopy. A method is developed for predicting the life of cathodes by taking account of the real physicochemical processes occurring at the worki ng temperatures, On its basis, the prospects for using the W-Y2O3 and W-Y2O 3-Re2Y systems as cathode materials are compared for various operating cond itions.
