The evolution of the grain-boundary structure of molybdenum in collective r
ecrystallization is investigated on the basis of multifractal parameterizat
ion of the structures. The grain-boundary configuration of preliminarily dr
awn molybdenum wire is studied by vacuum annealing at 1300-1550 degrees C.
A clear relation is found between the variation in the multifractal charact
eristics and the mechanical characteristics of the wire in static tension.
Collective recrystallization leads to decrease in the uniformity and latent
periodicity of the grain-boundary configuration.
