Synthesis of cyclohexanone oxime was carried out by use only of cyclohexano
ne and ammonia gas. Na-ZSM-5 catalyst showed remarkably high activity. It i
s considered that the basic sites around the sodium cation inside Na-ZSM-5
were active sites for this reaction. Pyridine derivatives formed by aldol c
ondensation were the main byproducts. Well-selected reaction conditions suc
h as temperature, reaction time, and feed ratio can enhance the selectivity
to cyclohexanone oxime.
