Abstract
Reactions of adsorbed NO and CO on Rh(111) were studied with temperature pr ogrammed reaction spectrometry, using isotopically labeled (CO)-C-13 to ena ble discrimination between N-2 and CO, and N2O and CO2. Dissociation and de sorption of NO are hardly influenced by the presence of CO, whereas repulsi on between NO and CO destabilizes CO, enhancing its desorption and diminish ing the production of CO2.
