Abstract
A convenient synthesis of 9, 11-secospongianes is reported, starting from m ethyl isoanticopalate 4. This compound has been obtained readily from labda nolic acid and sclareol, two abundant, bicyclic natural products. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
