Abstract
An efficient synthetic method for preparing functionalised terpyridyl analo gues based on Negishi's zinc coupling is developed. These ligands form cycl ometallated complexes; attaching them to cyclodextrins allows preparation o f luminescent cyclometallated ruthenium cyclodextrins for the assembly of p hotoactive units via non-covalent interactions, (C) 1999 Elsevier Science L td.
