In this work the resonant splitting effect in semiconductor superlattices a
nd magnetic-barrier superlattices is investigated systematically by using t
ransfer-matrix method. Universality of characteristics of resonant splittin
g is revealed for electron tunneling through these two different kinds of s
uperlattices. The results indicate that the common features of resonant spl
itting are not only determined by the structure but also by parameters of b
uilding blocks. Moreover, in magnetic-barrier superlattices splitting featu
re is also related with the tunneling momentum perpendicular to the tunneli
ng direction.
