Quantum tunneling effect at excited states in antiferromagnetic particles i
s studied with the help of the periodic instanton method. The transition am
plitude, energy shift and prefactor of WKB exponential are given for variou
s low-lying excited states. The tunneling rate at definite temperature is o
btained by statistical average and the theoretical dependence of the tunnel
ing rate on temperature is in agreement with the experimental results.
