PURPOSE: To report time use of ultrasound biomicroscopy in the diagnosis an
d management of limbal dermoid.
METHOD: We used ultrasound biomicroscopy to examine an 18-month-old Asian g
irl with a congenital limbal mass with corneal extension. A biopsy of the m
ass was obtained.
RESULTS: Clinical examination, ultrasound biomicroscopy, and biopsy confirm
ed the diagnosis of limbal dermoid,
CONCLUSION: Ultrasound biomicroscopy may serve as a useful diagnostic adjun
ct for limbal dermoids. Additionally, it may be helpful in delineating the
