Abstract
Diamond nucleation on the surface of C-60 thin layers and intermediate layer of Si substrates are studied by scanning electron microscopy (S EM). The cross-section SEM images of diamond films show that diamond g rains really nucleate on the surface of C-60 thin layers. The SEM imag es of diamond nucleating sites show the nucleating aggregation of diam ond on C-60 surfaces. The preferential oriented diamond films are obse rved. The plasma pretreatment of C-60 sublimating layers is a key fact or for diamond nucleation.
