H. Yoshii et al., Kinetic analysis of temperature-programmed autoxidation of ethyl eicosapentaenoate and ethyl docosahexaenoate, BIOS BIOT B, 63(8), 1999, pp. 1336-1339
On the basis of an autocatalytic and a first order reaction kinetics, a non
isothermal oxidation reaction model was developed for n-3 polyunsaturated f
atty acid (PUFA) under temperature-programmed linear heating conditions. Wi
th this model, the activation energy of oxidative reaction can easily be ob
tained with at least three linear heating conditions. The temperature-progr
ammed oxidation experiments of ethyl eicosapentaenoate and ethyl docosahexa
enoate were done under linear heating conditions of 4 to 12 K/h. The activa
tion energies and the frequency factors obtained were in good agreement wit
h those by the isothermal oxidation experiments reported previously.
