Abstract
A detailed palaeohydrological record of the Younger Dryas is reconstru cted from a palynological and sedimentological investigation of a lacu strine sequence at lake Onoz in Jura (France). After a first wet part, this cool period is characterized by an increasing dryness; a short r ise in lake level developed during its last part. Moreover, the Younge r Dryas is preceded and followed by two short transgressive phases, wh ich interrupted the regressions developing during the Allerod and the Preboreal.
