Sj. Qian et al., Evolutionary relationship between the gamma-ray flares and millimeter waveoutbursts in PKS 0528+134, CHIN ASTR A, 22(4), 1998, pp. 409-418
During the period of 1991-1993 two strong high energy gamma-ray flares were
observed by the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory in the flat spectrum radio s
ource PKS 0528+134. They were associated with strong mm-radio outbursts wit
h a few months time-delays. In this paper the spectral energy distributions
(SED) of the radiations in the gamma-hard X-ray and the IR-optical bands a
re analysed. It is shown that the high energy gamma-ray radiation may be du
e to the inverse Compton scattering of the ambient UV and soft X-ray photon
s by the relativistic electrons in the jet. Basing on the comparison betwee
n the properties of the synchrotron radiation of the gamma-ray source and t
he spectral evolution of the mm-radio outbursts, the evolutional relationsh
ip between the gamma-ray emitting blobs and the mm-radio emitting blobs is
discussed.
