Abstract
It is shown, by numerical simulation, that the gravitational lensing magnif ication by foreground clusters of galaxies and their surrounding structure cannot explain the large amplitude of quasar overdensity on scales of 10 ar cmin around the clusters. The lensing interpretation of quasar-cluster asso ciation thus seems unlikely.
