Abstract
Within the framework of dhe optical model: the backward-angle anomalous beh aviors of the angular distributions for the O-16 + Mg-24 and the O-16 + Si- 28 elastic scatterings have been well described by using deep optical poten tials. The excitation functions of elastic scattering for the O-16 + Si-28 system at theta(cm) = 90 degrees and 180 degrees have also been reproduced well by using the same set of deep potential parameters. The results show t hat the effect of the deep potential resonance may be responsible for the b ackward-angle anomalous behavior.
