Abstract
A scheduling scheme for multimedia traffic over ATM-based TDMA satellite ne tworks is proposed. This scheduling scheme is based on controlled alternati on of the priorities of the best effort and delay sensitive connections in the scheduling process. Simulation experiments show that the delay performa nce of best effort connections is greatly enhanced with minimal effect on t he cell loss performance of delay sensitive connections.
